WordPress Workshop Wednesdays (WPWW) is a four (4) class series providing entrepreneurs, professionals and even hobbyists the skills & resources to develop attractive, functional and sustainable websites with WordPress for their business or pastime.

The series begins with the basics & general overview workshop and builds up to more focused workshop topics like template customization, adding functionality with plugins, collecting data with forms and e-commerce. Attendees may take the entire series at a discounted rate or purchase classes individually.

Workshops will be held at various locations such as Manoa Innovation Center and the Box Jelly; with at least one session held at the ProtoHUB monthly. The basic overview session repeats regularly for the benefit of students joining later or seeking a refresher.

Additional workshops will be introduced based on student demand for specialized tasks, work environments or industry-specific solutions.

WPWW is taught by local WordPress veteran John LeBlanc in partnership with the ProtoHUB Honolulu (With the HUB).

John LeBlanc is a veteran internet technologist of nearly two decades, beginning his career as the first staff internet developer for CBS TV & Radio in Boston.

He’d hand-crafted numerous content management solutions using open source technologies before identifying an early version of WordPress (version 1.2 in 2004) as an excellent foundation for sustainable web publishing.

Since specializing on the platform, John has built and tuned countless WP sites while closely tracking evolution of the platform and community. He teaches 3-hour workshops with Pacific New Media at University of Hawaii, Manoa Outreach College.
